Hello! I wanna show you all my electric blue acaras and I have a question. Are they fighting for territory or mating? They seem still too little to mate.

Answer: YES.
Answer: NO.
Whaaaa......???!!
Meaning? Those baby-sized Cichlids are just playing around at this point. Trying things out, and checking out some new moves. That's what the game is all about when they are this young. So yes..... they are sorta doing some pre-spawning stuff. And yes..... they are also doing some fighting/combative stuff.
Just a bit like two kittens rolling around on the floor of your living room? So for now, enjoy the Electric Blue Acara Cichlid show and all of those antics with trauma-free drama!
It's all 'fun & games' until you see them start lip-locking, pushing and shoving in there for real.

When they’re little in size like that, they will both do it. Later on, when spawning maturity hits, the male will usually initiate spawning by displaying, posturing etc…. towards the female.
She’ll reciprocate if interested in lip-locking, ‘circle tussling’ and other things to see if she is spawning with a healthy, viable partner. :sneaky:
