I've searched the forums and there are many lighting threads however most people who ask the questions seem to already know a little about lighting. I know nothing. I'm building a canopy for my 29g tank and don't know what to do about lighting. It currently has the light that came with the all glass hood. I know nothing about electric work and even less about lighting. I'm planning on buying a fixture from someplace like Home Depot or Lowes. I am on a budget as I just got out of the military and am "between jobs" :lol: . My brother in law, who is a carpenter, is helping me out. So basically my question is what type of bulb to use? I want something that will really bring out the color of the fish. Its an all fish tank, no plants. Can anyone give me a complete list of what I need to buy for lighting? I mean everything. From the bulbs to the fittings. again, I am on a budget.
