i have two yellow labs. when i bought them they both looked more or less the same and pretty much like a standard yellow. now that they have gotten a bit bigger one of them has lost the black on its fins and has turned a nice dark yellow. the other has turned almost white except along his face and back but his fins have stayed more or less black.

i was wondering if there is a reason for this, primarily the one turning white? they act pretty healthy and like to lie about being hungry. i cant test my water since i ran outta test strips.

Likely coloration is a reflection of dominance and stress. The dark one is dominant and the pale one is stressed and trying to become invisible.

Buy a test tube kit (not strips) and test the water to be sure they are not also dealing with toxins.
