I have a female yellow lab with some odd coloring. I got her as a fry about 9 months ago, and she looked good (nice and bright especially around feeding time). Now, I have noticed that over the past few weeks, she has had this bluish-purple coloring around her face and towards the front of her body. There are also some bars that are starting to show. Though, during feeding, this color kind of disappears. Is this a result of stress, poor water conditions, bad line of breed, or do I have a hybrid here? I do 40-50% water changes weekly, don't overfeed, and overfilter. Any ideas? I can post pics if needed... Thanks in advance.

Even a few specimens from good strains will get markings like you are talking about, though they aren't desirable. If it were me, I wouldn't take fry from her, but I would leave her in the tank.
