I picked up some small (~1.5-2") acei's a couple weeks ago, and now one of them has about 4 white spots on the left pectoral fin. I noticed this last week, not sure if it was there when I bought them or not. The spots are 1-2mm and a whitish color. I will try to get some pics, but he is still very active. He is also scratching against rocks more than the other acei's. Any ideas?

Yeh you should get some pics up

Do the spots look as if they are clinging to the body of the fish from outside or do they look as if they are growing from inside the body.

Do any of your other fish have spots?

One of the most common diseases in a tank is actually called "white spot" which most poeple are familiar with. Most of the time it occurs when you add new fish to your tank because the new guys bring the disease with them.

If it is this, it is very easily cured, your lfs with have a few products to rid this.

It is also contagious. Get some pics up so we can be sure what it is

I just tried to get some pics, but I couldnt get any to come out clear. I will try again tomorrow when I have more time. No other fish have any spots that I can see. Also, if you are referring to ick, the spots look larger than what I think ick is. I have never seen ick in person, but from pictures I have seen online, they look smaller and more numerous than what my fish has.
