i have 2 fish with small white cotton looking spots. these spots are only on the tips of the dorsal fins and one on a pectoral fin.

fish are acting fine. no flashing, eating readily.

most likely, they are infected injuries. simply increase water change maintenance, so that slight injuries can self heal, before being intruded by bacteria. all fish get small injuries, but most should go unnoticed, if the environment allows them a strong immune response. salt dosing can help to speed recovery of bacterial infections, but some species are intolerant to salt exposure, so homework is required before administrating to a community type set up. HTH.
