hi all, i have just purchased 2 borleyi that a very small, one is slightly darker than the other one.
they are grey/silver in colour with yellow fins, i know females stay this colour just wondered if anyone has had experiance with them.

mine is starting to color up right now hes about 1 year old and 3.5 inch, i have seen some i fish store that are smaller with color but i belive mine took abit being with 5 ich + other males in his tank.

dont supose there is any tell tail signs when they are small. my 2 are different colour grey

I remember many years ago buying these fish because I though they were Juvi Red Empress.
They were roughly about 1.5" and some were starting to colour up. They were not entirely red
but had a reddish hue starting to form on the body.
I bought what I though were two males and I did in fact end up with two males, although I had
to move one on when they became sexually mature and I bought two females.

I did breed them in the end and I got some cracking fry but the male ended up breeding with
all the female Peacocks too. Should have named him Errol Flynn. :lol: :lol:

cheers for reply, il just keep an eye out and see if i have a male,i hope so.
