so I browsing CL, and found a 210 gallon aquarium, that the guy says leaks due to a crack in the bottom band but not in the tank itself?... I didn't know the plastic band on the tanks held water from leaking??? I he only wants a $150 for it... what do you guys think I was considering selling my 55, my 40, and 2- 20 gallons to get this and having this tank and my 75?should I risk it or do you maybe think there is a real underlying problem with why this tank is leaking??

Well it might just need to be resealed with silicone, but you never really know. If your feeling crafty, and you have few extra $$ to blow then get it. You might be able to seal it and flip it for $300. Then take the $300 and all the other tanks you want to sell and get a new 210g. Does it come with stand? If so you might be able to sell it for more once it's fixed. :thumb:

p.s. don't sell your good tanks for a fixer upper.

$150 for a 210G is obviously a good price. On the other hand, 210G of water in the floor is a heck of a mess. I've never re-sealed a tank, and although I am fairly handy in other areas, that's not something I'd be too keen to take on - partly because all of my tanks sit in carpeted areas in my living space, not in a dedicated fish room in the basement. If you can fix the tank, it will obviously be a steal, and owning a 240G myself, I'd definetely say a tank of that size is a great thing to have :thumb:

I'd say if your going to buy it you might want to try haggling the price down. It could be a good deal or you might be throwing money down the crapper! You won't know until you've tried to fix it and then make sure you test fill it up where if it leaks it won't be an issue and let it sit for a few days before you drain it and put it in it's final place.

Good Luck!!!
