Hi -- I am heading out soon for a couple of weeks at the beach.

I know I can leave my mbuna that long with no problems, but what about shellies, especially multies? Do I need someone to come in and feed them and if so, how often?

There are 6 of them in a 10G, they are about 6 months old and 1-1.25 inches. No breeding observed yet.

TIA

They can go a week without eating no problem. Maybe aim to feed them every 3-4 days if you'll be gone for 2 weeks, but even if they aren't fed I'm sure they'll likely survive.

I concur with Darkside... 5 days, no problem. Our pet fish are always way overfed and often fasting will spur breeding activity.

I have people check on my tanks more for equipment failure than feeding. So, if you can have a friend stop by every 3-4 days and make sure that the temps are fine and the pumps are working, then they may as well feed the fish while they are there! :thumb:

They make automatic feeders for less than $20. Check your LFS. I always find these helpful if we go out of town.
