Hey guys,

I came across a group of juli fry for pretty reasonable. They are all around 1" to 1.5". How long would it take for them to start pairing up?

The reason I ask is because I need to mix them with some adult fish and I'm worried they will be bullied. I can keep them in a grow out tank, but I don't want to have to worry about an extra tank for long.

Thanks,
Aaron

I know its hard to put a time limit on something that can vary so wildly, but do I have a reasonable chance of growing them up in 3 months? Weekly water changes and twice a day feedings.

Weekly water changes and 2x/day feedings is pretty standard for any fish. Bump it to 3x/day feedings and daily/every other day water changes and you'll see some accelerated growth. Still, 3 months would be iffy then.

Hmm. May be wiser to just wait and find some bigger fish to work with.

What kind of fish do you have in your other tank? The J. Transc. are good at hiding in rocks. Very interesting swimmers
