I believe it's auratus, but I want to be sure...He/she looks grey in that picture, but he/she is light blue.

Probably a Melanochromis johanni, or hybrid of one.
I'm guessing there's no way of knowing for sure?

I bought this about a year ago from PetSmart(before I knew any better) and I need to get rid of it now to make room for yellow lab and rusty fry.

I don't want to sell a hybrid to a pet store as something it's not, but I'd also hate to flush it...Actually, I'm not sure my wife would let me flush it. :p

They are sold as "Electric Blue Johanni", a common mass market fish. Probably a hybrid. You can give it to a store.

Well, I took him and an actual Electric Blue Johanni back and got $5.00 a piece for them. :p

That may well be what he was too, but they had 4-5 fish that looked identical to him...None of them were black with blue stripes like full grown johanni.

I'd never buy fish from this place, because they just have several huge tanks with "mixed Africans" in them, but I did utilize the $10.00 store credit for some supplies I needed to turn this 20g into a fry tank.
