I noticed one of my red top zebra doesn't seem good. It looks like its gasping and is passing food thru to the gills. The other fish seem to like what is coming out of his gills cause they eat it! My tank is a 55 gal of Lake Malawi mixed species the Ph is over 7.5 my ph card dosent go higher. I have not had the water tested I just cleaned the tank substrate a week ago and did a 25% water change. I dont know what the nitrates are or any thing else. Im sorry. The tank has been cycled and its been up for while. Could it have been overfed?
Thanks for your quick response

How long has the tank been set up?

Any white stringy feces?

You need to get the water parameters checked, even if it means taking a water sample in to your LFS. That's the first thing you need to do when you have problems like this.

What is your normal tank maintenance routine?

What is your complete stock list on the tank? Are these adult fish or juveniles?

What are you feeding? How often? How long does it take them to consume the amounts you offer?
