i would blame the acidic properties of your water treatment product (claritant?) for causing some temporary flashing. if the fish were in the bag for more than an hour, and you added that bag water into the tank with your fish, then that could also cause some discomfort to delicate species of fish. either way, your fish should be fine by morning. in the future...throw bag water out, and always introduce new treatment products at 1/2 dose, to assure all fish will tolerate it's reaction properties before following instructions to the max. HTH.

the 1/2 dose is a good guide for water treatment products, because all water sources vary, and many manufacturer's suggested dosing according to some sort of funky standard that applies to no one's tapped source in particular. don't mistake the necessity to dose 100% for medications, though. HTH.
hope your fish are all fine by now. :)

glad you are happy again. your posted pick in the front sect, of you hugging that big ars't 200+ gal. tank, brought back some good ol' memories of mine. i love when many gallons congregate to form one :dancing:
