I have used upholstery foam and a sock over the cartridge frame before but want to know if anyone has any better ideas
I have a Penguin 350 if that matters.

I just bought some polyester quilt batting material from Jo-Ann Fabrics.. they have most everything back there on sale right now for 50% off.

Scotchbrite scour pads. I use them in a Penguin 200 and they work great. I've been using the same two pads for over a year with nothing more than a weekly rinse under the sink sprayer.

I have a few Penguin 350's on various tanks. I use the Rena Filstar foam (fine) and cut it to fit in 2 of the slots. I just rinse them in tank water at each water change and reuse. Been using the sames ones for about 2 years. In the other slots I use quilt batting in a media basket. The roll of batting I bought over 3 years ago and I still have a lot left.
