Wow! That's a big item. In a forty there are lots of things that will work. At one point 55's were considered big tanks! For me and what I like, there are some really nice small cichlids that behave very nicely and would work in 40. Rainbow cichlids are a favorite with me. Officaial name but subject to change --Herotilapia multispinosa. Not as common as convicts so they are more interesting to me, and they are not as rough. Quite meek actually as they are used to small water and will tolerate others nesting nearby. I find they breed readily and the stock are easy to sell to shops as the market is always up to something not seen so often.



Just one of many choices.

i've kept some cynotilapia in a 40 breeder, not sure what your dimensions are, obviously the choices are more limited with a 36inch long 40 breeder than a 48 inch long 40 long
