hi

So I went camping for a night I got back tonight to find one on my electic yellows dead!!!. Water parameters were all fine. This is what I have in the tank its around 350litres roughly. 2 red zebras around 4cm long, 1 midnight peacock around 7cm long, 1 female peacock around 8cm long. And HAD 3 yellows around 5cm long ( I measured the dead one it was 5.2cm). Anyone got any ideas as to what happened. I am guessing someone killed it but there was no marks or nothing visibly wrong with it. Could it have been a possible fight between two males although like i said no marks were found on it.

hi

The tank has been set up for about 2-3months. I got the peacocks about 3 weeks ago I only got the zebras and yellows 1 week ago. Water parameters I measured were, ammonia =0, nitrite = 0 pH 7.7. My normal tank maintenance routine is just a 50% water exchange every week. the fish were not fed when i was away. All fish are added without quarantining them. one of my rainbow fish was also dead.
hi cichlidaholic

thanks for the advice. Unfortunately i just got home from work to find another of my yellow labs dead. Im guessing it must have been a disease because a relation of mine brought one from the same tank and his was sick yesterday I havent heard if it died overnight. I cant see any symptoms the remaining yellow is has a white sheen on it thats the only thing I can see thats different. I am just lost as to what i have done wrong.

thanks
hi

Nar its a was a white almost like it wasnt a proper yellow however the remaining yellow seems to have got more "yellow". i have seen them rub themselves on the gravel a few times. the remaining yellow hasnt died so I will just see what happens over the next few days and report if anything else happens.

cheers
hi

Well im absoultely disgusted all my yellows are now dead. The only sign is they stop eating a day before they die. can these fish get bloat from normal cichlid pellets? Are yellows a lot weaker then other cichlids? i dont think i will bother with them anymore.

thanks
