Weird food

I just bought a frozen chiclid food with "advanced floating technology". I'm not mentioning the brand out of courtesy. It doesn't float it sinks. I tried letting it thaw and it floated a little but sunk again. Not sure what kind of gunk is this? I put it in warm water and it didn't dissolve unless I pinched it. It's just weird. The other frozen brime & spurlina frozen cubes I use float and the fish chase it around and pick it apart. This product sinks and the fish are not attracted to it. What is the deal?
