Hey wasup guys...

I just bought 6 cons, in hopes of getting a bredding pair. The thing is that none of them have orange on their bellies. So my thing is i hope I did not get 6 males. I have one con whos is darker than the rest, that keeps chasing the others away from a certain spot of the tank. So my questions:

Are there any different ways to sex cons other than orange on their bellies???

Does the darker color mean anything????

How will you know if you got a pair??

Any info will be very much appreciated....

If they are super small, they might be to young to sex. Usually, every female will have a little bit of red in the belly while the male has a distint shape that differs from the female. Look at the sticky above for a more precise explanation.

They range from about 1.5 inches to about 2.5 inches

At that size you should be able to sex them. It seems unlikely that buying 6 cons you would end up with all males.

Females will don males coloration every now and again. Give it a week to ten days and we'll have the answer...
