Hello,

I love this peacock, and I have to say they are very hard to find. I finally was able to get my hands on one. He's a juvie, but I think he's the real deal. Just need a confirmation that he is a walteri and not a swallowtail. I've heard they are very similar.

Thanks in advance.

I would say yes, he does seem like the Walteri in Koning's books. Seems like 'Walteri is related to Lwanda, except white/blue fins instead of yellow-orange in the fins of Lwanda. The bright blue jaw is characteristic of Walteri. Walteri get a yellowish upper body color while having the blue to white in the dorsal, maybe comparable to Otter Point but still different.

Sweet, thank so much for confirming. I really like him, finally got my favorite cichlid. Funny you mentioned a Lwanda. I have that one as well, my second favorite :)
