400$ with tank and stand brand new maybe more, and thats without filters ,subrstrate .blah .blah, sell your 55 keep what u can and use it on the upgrade saves money, but yea its a pretty good expence unless u find a deal used.
For a 100G tank with stand on Craigslist you can sometimes find great deals. The other day I saw a 125G with stand, complete with a wet dry filter and sand, for $300.
Sometimes people are crazy though, so watch out. There's a guy who's trying to sell his 10G "reef tank" setup for $600 still on the craigslist near me.
Yeah, alot of the people on my local craigslist seem to have paid petstore "retail" prices, and expect to be able to sell it for 80% of that, not realizing that you can get a better deal on new stuff online *eyeroll*
