I have two horizontally adjoining tanks, being that there is like a 3-3.5" gap between them (55 gal and 30 gal).

The fishes see one another in the adjoining tanks and try to swim into the other tank. Up and down, left to right.. like they are convinced they can get back and forth.

Should I put up a blinder (paper) to break up the line of sight?

The 55 gal has my community of Yellow Tale Acei, Red Zebras, and cuckoo catfish..

The other tank (called the a$$hole tank) are those that don't play well with others (two auratus, three "muttbuna" hybrids (auratus/????) two feisty Kenyii, and two pleco's that poop boat-ropes all over the tank.

What should I do???

How long have the fish been in the tanks with the tanks in this position? Unless they are wearing themselves out and getting sick I would let them play. I would think after several months they will become more interested in the fish of their own species within their own tanks.
