I have had this guy for a while, as a single in one of my tanks, bought him on impulse and he hasnt caused any problems till now that hes maturing of course, lol... I have gotten rid of a species and am planning on getting rid of him as well. I am adding trewavasae to my tank, the normal solid blue and orange doral ones. I am curious as to whether my ob is fuelleborni or trewavasae? I tried to get pics, these are the best I could do....

Lol... I'm pretty sure its a male, just unsure if its trev or fuelle. I have no idea. It seems more robust than a trev, so Im leaning to fuelle. Just wanted some other opinions. He isnt that torpedo-like.

Overfed trewavassae, particularly when they are young, can look "chubby" too... Unfortunately, I don't think we can say for certain. Nice looking fish though.

Fogel, Thanks, he was a diamond in the rough at my lfs. I found some older pictures of him, and he looks way more torpedolike. From the old pics I found, they make me think hes a trev, lol... heres those pics...

Because females of both trev and fuelle look completely different. He has a male pattern.

The blue mixed in with the orange and black. Females typcially don't show any blue in their OB patterns.

well every female i have seen has been a mix of orange and dark blue. dunno what it like in the states but in australia ob males are so incredibly rare... i wouldnt be getting rid of it!
