I kept some of the fry from the last spawn. Right now the largest is about two inches...with most about an inch and a half.
These fish are very fast moving...all over the tank. Most of the photos I took during this session (about 75) were done with the macro 105mm following the "subject" until they stopped to make a turn or stopping (briefly).
I wanted a shot of the group together and got a few dozen like this one.
Usually when I feed them they all scramble to the top, grab the chow and take off. At the same time the food will "muck up" the photo with all the suspended bits and pieces. In order to get the above shot, what I did was throw five or six oversized pellets into the top of the tank. They would spend several minutes trying to bite the pellet...giiving me ample time to photograph. The flas is literally three inches above their heads in this photo.
Eventually the pellets started sinking. The fry didn't stop chasing the food.
Talk about biting off more than you can chew. LOL
