Hello all, I keep a mated pair of tiger oscars that have successfully bred many times over the past few years. The female is smaller, about 9 inches, and as taken a beating from the male each time they mate. At times I have had to separate them and I no longer breed them due to the aggression the male shows when guarding the nest. Water quality is good but it is on the hard side. For about 6 months the female has progressively shown signs of gill problems. She has a white growth on the left and appears to gasp. The water is well oxygenated. I have tried rounds of general cure with no affect. She is eating but not as well as in the past. Any ideas?
