Hey everyone

I want to test my tap water to get a base line of my water parameters. Right now I have just got some test strips. I have heard these aren't the most accurate, but i figured it would give me a general idea until i can get a more accurate test kit. My question is do I need to treat the water first with a dechlorinator before i test it or does it not matter?

Thanks

I think the test strips are fine. I personally have a hard time distinguishing the finer gradients of color in the more advanced kits anyway.

i would let the water stand over night after you've dechlorinated it and then test it.

i use the strips to, they are a lot easier and quicker, i dont worry about the numbers to much i just ensure that things aren't to different from what it was last time i tested.
