looking to get a larger tank
there seems to be a very big jump in price between the 5 foot and 6 foot tanks
does the extra foot make much difference if keeping peacocks and haps

If you have the room I would go with the 6 footer. The Haps and Peacocks will appreciate the extra 1 foot length.

definitely go for the 6 foot tank, and if you can, go for 8 foot.
Bigger the better I always say 8)

Agreed, ken31cay, I always say: think about what size of tank you want, and then get something bigger than that, lol.

The longer, the easier, the more different types you can keep. Bigger tanks you can have a mix without overstocking as much as a small tank. Every foot of space that they can get out of each others' way helps, not just the water volume. In nature a fish can swim 10-20 feet away when chased, and there is peace. In the tank they are trapped so a fish can be under constant harassment.
