| T. laticeps is distinguished from its close relative, T. praeorbiatalis, by the presence of a diagonal line in adults. It feeds on insect larvae by digging deep into the sand. It is usually found singly, but often ''followed'' by C. moorii or P. annectens, who dine on edible items exposed by the former's digging. Males construct huge sandcastles as large as 8 feet across. |
