Have you ever found fry in your filter??? I was just cleaning out my canister filter when I found a single Yellow Lab fry. He/she is about about 3 weeks old. This is the first time a actually liked cleaning the filter!

...any fry I have found in my backfilters-are only what's left of them after coming into contact with the....impeller.... ....you are fortunately you found one alive.!!

To prevent it from happening again, put a net or sponge etc over the filter intake.

When mbuna are spitting fry all the time in a tank, there are bound to be a few that find their way into the filter if it's not covered some how.

DNK - That doesn't always work. Mine used to jump up the stream into the filter. I had a suicide Saulosi fry that did it like 20 times.

I find them all the time in my canisters. Joea has a post or two about some yellow labs he found in his that were beyond fry size.
