Hello I have a 75 gallon mixed mbuna tank, and all my fish seem healthy a plump except for one of my largest Acei. He eats like a horse just like all the other fish, but his belly has really sunken in and now he is starting to loose muscle mass. Whats wrong with him, What can be done? All of my conditions are ideal the tank has been running for nearly three years. I keep the nitrates below 20ppm the temp is 79-81 and I feed NLS. He seems active, and health, but is looks horrible, worse than Lindsay Lohan.

Is there any type of parasite like worms or something that would/could be eating all his food and if so would a good doce of penicillin kill it off?

You may be dealing with what is referred to as "skinny" or "wasting" disease.

My first mode of action would be to treat for internal parasites. There are two links below my signature for two different bloat treatments, either would be fine to use.

Parasites can be spread by healthy fish mouthing the feces of infected fish, so you would want to feed the main tank antiparasitic food if you isolate Lindsay to treat her...
