Just was curious to know at what size or age a SRE will start to show color. I bought one about a month ago and it's still grey with a black horizontal line with faint orange on the tips of the dorsal. He's about 3.5" now and very healthy looking.

No two fish colour up at the same size or age. It depends on the other fish in the tank.. how dominant this fish, if there are females, size of the tank, water quality and food quality.

I have males colouring up at 2.5".....
