hi all i just bought a pair of sunshine cichlids from my LFS and the male got stuck in my filter and even though i rescued him he died today. so my question is, my LFS only sells them as a pair would i be ok to buy another pair to go along with my female?

I am assuming that they are either Aulonocara maleri, or perhaps baenschi. If so, these are not pairing cichlids anyway, best kept with 2-4 females for each male.

Go ahead get another pair, and fix your filter. :thumb:

thanks for the reply i have already fixed the filter but these fish will be staying in my 45 gallon tank with a HOB for now till i decided to put a sump on it. my LFS called them sunshine peacock cichlids

They look like just my aulonocara baenschi (who the LFS also called sunshine peacocks), so I'd guess that. I have 1m/2f and they have been doing well for a while for me.
