Not to hijack this thread, but where did you get your "Sumbu" from? Mine are F1 from Germany (originally Mbita) they have never, ever been shy and don't show the more subdued behaviour typical to other Altolamps I've had in the past. I'm thinking that's either because they're tank raised, there are 10 of them, or they're among the largest fish in the aquarium.

I split the topic, as it seems to be worthwhile on it's own.

Darkside's Sumbu's don't seem to be as attached to their shells as mine do....

Mine are F1's as well, I believe they came from mgillie originally. Mine are somewhat shy with people, but not so much with other fish. I've split mine up, a pair in a 75 gallon, and a pair in a 15 gallon (the tank that shows as the brevis tank in "my tanks".)

The pair in the 15 gallon are becoming much bolder with the tetras in the tank.

My Comps are currently in a 75 gallon, as stated before there are 10 of them. The other inhabitants are E. Cyanostictus, two different variants of L. Ornatipinnis and some Synos. Even when first acclimated to the 75 they were out in the open and accepted food within hours. They seem to mainly stick to the rock work piled along the back, but spawn in the shells. They frequently show this strange "dogpile" behaviour as I call it, where 3-6 of them rush together and more or less push on one another. They don't seem to cause any damage to each other and its pretty entertaining to watch.
