Hey I'm new to this forum and I want to use this sand
Sand I was wondering how much I should use for a 55 gallon tank. Should I get 3 bags for 60 lbs or just 2 bags for 40 lbs?

I would go with 60 pounds of sand myself for a 55. I have 100 lbs in my 80.

I have sand myself, but I would adjust the amount of sand according to the fish you stock. I have one tank with jurapari's and corys and they love the deep sand, but in my severum tanks I actually removed some. I have 50 pounds in my 55g and 70 lbs in my 60g.
