I gave my grandson 10 red one inch red zebra fry May of last year. At this time they are about 1 1/2 inches in length. Three survived and I took them back and have them in a 55 gallon tank with (18) 1 1/4 inch OB Red zebras. The OB Red Zebras are three months old and almost as big as my grandson's Red zebras which are a year old now. My question for anyone out there is, can I get these stunted Red zebras of my grandson's up to normal size? Usually fry that I growout myself are at least three inches long in one year. I feed them 4 - 5 times a day and do 50% water changes twice a week. :-?

it sounds like they lived in high nitrates for a long time. Good care might do it, or they may be permanently stunted. Either way, wait and see is pretty much what it comes down to.
