Hello, looking for some opinions on stocking my 48" 55 gallon mbuna tank. I currently have 6 yellow labs in there, and am planning on adding 2 more species. I had considered having a group of maingano, but have read enough stories about their aggression in a 55 gallon that I decided against it. I think I've narrowed my choices down to:
- White tail acei
-Yellow tail acei
-Metriaclima sp. "Msobo"
- White top hara cynotilapia
-Socolofi

My one concern is whether the acei will end up too big for this tank, but I've heard some people say they are fine in a 48" tank. I think I would do the Msobo with the white top hara, or alternatively the white tail acei with the socolofi. A third option could be yellow tail acei with the white top hara. What do people think would work/look good? TIA

They are fine for 48x18 but not 48x12. I would choose either the hara or the socolofi as the blue is similar. Msobo would work, but the orange females are only one shade different than the yellow labs.

Maybe white socolofi?
