Hi, i am new to this and rushed into buying cichlids only to realise there is a lot more involved with keeping these fish
together.
I went a bought
- x2 electric yellow ( labidochomis caeruleus )
- x2 maingano (melanochromis cyaneorhabdos)
- x2 snow white ( pseudotropheeus socolofi)
- x1 kenyi (maylandia lombadoi)
- x1 ruben red peocock ( aulonacara stuartgranti) I think!
Do i need to get rid of any? They are all juveniles at the moment.
Thank you

What size is the aquarium? Either way I'd probably get rid of the Kenyi and definitely the peacock. Kenyi because of aggression and the peacock because it's not going to do well with Mbuna.

Agree we need dimensions. Also know that Malawi usually do not do well in pairs...so you may need to add females of the same species...if you have room.

The tank is 1220L X 390 W X 440 H.
Okay so if i get rid of the peacock and the kenyi how many
Of each fish should i have and how many differeent mbuna per tank could i have?
Example:
1 male and 3-4 female each of the fish i have plus x2 defferent types in the same ratio?
Thank you

Did you give the dimensions in millimeters? So 48" by 15"?

I would stock 3 species and 1m:4f of each, depending on the species.
1m:4f labs
1m:4f socolofi
1m:7f maingano (because they are more aggressive...need more females)

Not only that but Kandango are an 8" fish...I like them in a 72" tank. Maingano are enough of a stretch in your tank size.

Instead of maingano? Then you have 2 light blue fish with cobalt and socolofi. Maybe if you went with the white socolofi.
