Help!!! I have just seen my baby oscar Sushi spinning madly for about a minute. He was spinning with his head down and whole body rotating (like a drill bit).

Last night he seemed very lethargic when I first put the lights on lying on his side and when he tried to swim was blown a bit by the current of the filter. After a while and after a couple of bloodworms he was swimming around as normal and was ok this morning. Tonight hes again lethargic but when he tried to swim he started spinning. It was pretty scary to watch. *** tried googling the symptoms but had not much luck. Hexamita is mentioned but in context with HITH. Sushi has not got HITH or any other visible symptoms. I also tested the tanks water last night and everything is normal ph-7, nitrate and nitrite -0, amonia-0.

I was going to ask advice about his eating or rather lack of it and if it was normal for baby oscars of 1 1/2 inch to look thin. The first few days I had him he seemed to eat the flakes I put in for him (the LFS said they fed him on it), but then he stopped. He doesnt touch the pellets I put in. He will only eat frozen blood worms! I went back to the LFS where I got him this past weekend and mentioned lack of eating and they tried to get me to give him feeders - little neons, apparently this is what theyve been feeding their oscars with. They have only 3 baby oscars left (in the tank I could see the remains of the fourth).

Anyone got any ideas. Although *** only had Sushi just over a week I dont want to lose him.

I found Sushi dead yesterday morning. :( But at least he finished his days in a big tank and not being bullied by the other oscars.

Im going to try a nearby LFS which specialises in American Cichlids. (They breed their own discus.) They have oscars in at the mo. I should have gone there in the first place its where I got my severum Bob who is 9 yr old!
