Hi all,

I read somewhere that lighting directly from above (ie like at the fish store or in display tanks) helps keep the fish calm, while side lighting will cast shadows into the tank when someone walks past. Does anyone have experience with changing their lighting and the effect on fish behavior.
It's just my fish are really skittish at the moment when before they were so bold, and the only thing that's changed is that I've moved them into a different room that gets sunlight from the side. So what do you guys think?

Cheers,
Fatty

how long ago is the move? That will upset your fishies, and you can expect skittishness for a few weeks. That should pass, with time.

hi Nina, thanks for the reply
It's been about 3 weeks now since moving the tank. Yeah, hopefully they'll settle down soon.

Anyone know if bloat or hexamita contributes to sensitivity to light, movement, disruption?
