Hi all just got back from a few days away went and checked on the fish and found my female gold head comp hiding at the back of the tank. Initially I was excited because I thought they may have spawned but I have noticed it looks like there is alot hanging out the rear end and she isn't eating.

These fish are very expensive and hard to find here so I would welcome any suggestions people may have to possibly save her I don't think I can find another female so would hate to loose this one. I was thinking her own tank some salt and maybe antibiotics to hopefully ward off any infections.

Hopefully someone can help!

Here are some pics..

Sounds like a decent plan. I can't tell from the pictures whether it's her ovipositor or her anus, but I suggest adding Epsom salt (MgSO4) to loosen things up. Add 1 tablespoon, pre-dissolved, per 5 gallons of water (US measurements). I'd also stop feeding for now, leave the lights off, and make sure she has a place to hide while in her quarantine tank.

Yeah have done antibiotics and furan2 no improvement and she has been under treatment for 24hours she still hasn't eaten the fry I stuck in there for her so will see what happens there, I guess I can only hope it gets better by itself. I have tried to gently push it back in but no luck there either.
