Guy offered me a 75 gallon tank and stand only no hood lights ext. for 75 dollars. Said tank has very few scratches on the back but can't see them at all when water is in tank. ANd said he would clean it top to bottom for pick up. Should I pull the trigger?? Then all of you can help me on what to put in it! How much will the top and lights cost me when its all said and done. I know about the filter. Thanks

Without knowing the condition and style of the stand, I think its hard to say if that is a great deal. You can find a used 75 gallon tank for $50. If the stand is ugly, banged up, and/or rickety, its not worth much. If its a newer factory made wooden stand that looks decent and is sturdy, then this is an awesome deal.

really??? i am basing this on the fact that im getting a tank/stand/lights/lid combo from there for MUCH cheaper than anywhere else in the area has it for. looking back, i did go to buy a filter from there at one point and went somewhere else cause it was so expensive. where in the area has best prices?

yeah Super Petz prices are sky high on everything and the dude always working there is a prick. Supply and demand I guess, but I wont be demanding their supply anymore.
Don't get me wrong. I like the store, but the prices seem to be just as high if not higher than any other store in the area. I think good customer service is a thing of the past. The employees seem to be nice guys but, they can be hard to find at times. Uniforms might be helpful. The fact that they don't give store credit for trades kind of sucks too. Seems like they would be more than happy to offer store credit since none of the big box stores do. I like thier fish selection and the selling process. I've seen them turn sells down to people with bad water test.

Hondo: I think the tank prices are pretty common across the board. I 've been to Scales, Wally's, Rhodse Island Ave Pets, and Super Petz and the prices all seem to be around the same. Somtimes Scales will do some type of Blow out sale and you might be able to get a nice tank/stand for a decent price. If you really want a deal CL seem like the place to shop, but you have to consider the fact that the item will be used, and warranty free. I did find this one guy in the trading post. He lives down in Herndon. His entire basement is full of tanks and supplies, and he lets them go for decent prices. I lost his number, but if you check the trading post from time to time you might see an ad from him.

P.S If anyone on here works for SP's I'm the guy that donated that show peacock (red shoulder) a few weeks ago.
