Well my 29 Gallon is cycled and I picked up my 6 Multies, and 4 Rainbow praecox.

The Fish are no bigger than 1 1/2" and all seem well for 4 days. I also have a female Flag fish for some algae help.

My question is that all of the rainbows and flag fish eat ravenously, however the multies kinda only tap at the flake that bothers to come there way. Any thoughts on what to do to have them be happy with feeding?

do you crush the flakes up? theyre little guys and little pieces (while they can handle larger flakes) will be easier for them to snatch up.

every once in a while with a turkey baster drop a little bit of live food..

Sinking pellets work well for multies.

just put the flakes in the tank. not on the surface, but in the water. that way, the filter will spread the flakes to the whole tank.

When they get hungry, they'll eat. 4 days isn't much time to adjust, so let them settle in a bit and they'll perk up. In the mean time, feed sparingly: overfeeding will cause trouble.

I have noticed an increase in the diatoms. My guess is that the lights may be on too long, but could be uneaten food.

I'll do another waterchange and relax until they eat on their own. Your right I bet they won't go hungry for too long.

I had the same problem with my Brevis. After a while I started giving him live BBS and he would eat it. When I introduced BBS I would also add CRUSHED sinking pellets and he would eat both. Now I can get them to eat partially crushed pellets.

Moral of this story, you may have to break up some food.
