Sex of my jacks

Could someone tell by these pictures if both these jacks are males/or females etc?

Based on the lower gill plate, both appear to be females but they may be a little too young to be certain.

I was thinking the same thing but the one is colored and spotted all over. I read somewhere that the females are usually only colored around the face

Both female. Both sexes have colour on the body. The male usually doesn't have blue on the lower part of the gill covers.
