I would like to have an RO/DI water unit and storage in my basement but I don't like the idea of carrying buckets of water up the stairs. I have thounght about using a Mag Drive or similar pump with enough head pressure to pump the water upstairs. Would that work? Any other suggestions?

That's pretty much what I do. I have a 65 gallon container in my basement for mixing and storage of water. I use the Turbo Sea 1740-p to pump the water through vinyl tubing up the stairs. I did use adapters to step the tubing down from 1" at the pump to 1/2"; I found 1" tubing to be too bulky and heavy to wrestle up the stairs every week. The pump still has enough oomph to pump 20 gal. of water through 70 feet of tubing and up a flight of stairs in a matter of just a few minutes.

I did actually try lugging buckets of water up the stairs when I first set my system up, and discovered that I'm not in good enough shape to do large weekly water changes. :)
Hope that helps!
