I am working on starting a Rio Maroni biotype in a 29 gallon tank.
So far, I am going to have my 2 keyholes as the centrepiece. Other than that, I am thinking about penguin tetras. They are the only species I have been able to confirm are actually from rio maroni. any ideas on something like cories, plecos, other tetras etc?

Anyone have any good links to websites or any suggestions for this biotype? Im looking for biotype appropriate tankmates and any ideas on scaping. My scape plan so far is river stones a few roots. Up in the air on plants.

*** been trying to research, but not having a ton of luck.

I always start at FishBase for these types of searches.

http://www.fishbase.org/Summary/species ... ng=English

Scroll down to the bottom of the page to the More Information section, and click on Occurrences. Here you'll find where the species has been found and collected.

It takes a little while to learn all the different search functions on FishBase, but you can find;
List of Freshwater Fishes for French Guiana

http://www.fishbase.org/Country/Country ... csub_code=

Here's a list of fish you might be able to find from good LFS (especially if they'll order in for you).

Corydoras aeneus - Bronze corydoras
Corydoras melanistius - Blue spotted corydoras
Hemigrammus ocellifer - Head-and-taillight tetra
Hyphessobrycon eques - Jewel tetra
Nannostomus beckfordi - Golden pencilfish

Also check out the Rivulus species on the second last page, as you may have some of them available in the States.
