Please excuse my ineptitude for my brother passed away leaving me with his 125 gallon tank and cichlids two of which have red gills and red spots and one of the two is struggling to swim up right?! I will do whatever to make it right!!

Sorry for your loss.

Please post your test results for pH, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate?

Are there other fish in the tank with them?

OK, start with a 20% water change as soon as possible tonight. Do small percentages because large changes, even to get them in clean water, can kill even a healthy fish.

Can't quite see which test is which but I am guessing the top is nitrate and the 2nd from the top is nitrite?

Either way, the answer is lots of small partial water changes...2X daily like 8am and 8am until your nitrite and nitrate slowly come down.

Don't forget the dechlorinator and match the temperature of tank water and tap water. The hardness and pH are OK because African Rift Lake cichlids like yours like hard water with high pH.

The one that is vertical may be too late to save, but the horizontal one has a chance to recover.
