Is this red brush algae?

If not, what is it? If so, is it bad? I read a few posts when I did a search and there was some talk about it maybe turning green down the line, is that true?

The tank is my nl. brichardi tank, nitrates slightly high (40-80) due to a dead body I can't locate, pH 8.4, kH and Gh in the high teens, can't remember which. I read the red brush algae likes Rift Lake conditions so it seems to fit.

I don't mind the look at all, it's actually pretty. but I'll get rid of it if need be.

LOL, Frank I think so too! It kinda sways in the current and looks somehow inviting. The fish don't seem bothered by it, they're busy spawning judging by their secretive behavior of late.

I would not worry about the algae whatever it is. It is unlikely to be dangerous. The high nitrate level is a problem that I would get down as soon as I could.
