Where can I find styrofoam?

There are three types of "Great stuff", which one do i use?

How heavy does the tank get after the completion of a DIY background with concrete?
(Would that be really hard to move say from one room to another?)

Will getting water behind the styrofoam cause any undue filth, algae, etc. that would be impossible to remove?

The styro that I used comes it 2'' thick sheets 4'X8'. Youi can find it at most hardware/home improvement stores. Some have used the "pink" variety. Either one works fine. If the styro is "glued" directly to the back of the glass then any water/debris/filth would not be a problem. If you need more room for HOB filters then that is another problem.
