So I started out with a 38g which wasn't bad to use the siphon and bucket bit...but now in addition to that 38g I have two 55g. So the weekly water changes are starting to take it's toll on me.

I have read the reviews and it sounds all great, but a silly question I guess...when do you add your chemicals...before or after you pump new water back in the tank?

i usaully put the chemicals in immediately after turning the water on to fill the tank, pour it right in the stream thats coming from the hose so it mixes good.

I do the same thing - put in the dechlor right when I start filling, as close to the stream of new water as I can get. I also dose for the full tank volume, not just the volume I'm replacing with new water. For buffers and other "additive" chemicals, I wait until the tank is completely full and then add those.

Thanks guys, I just use dechlor as I'm blessed with hard water and thankfully haven't had to use any other chem's to get desirable water conditions.
