Hi

My tank is a juwel trigon 350 and has approx 50 cichlids in and 3 cuckoo cats.

The tank filters are FX5 and 405. The filter outlets are below the water.

I have an air stone which a really hate.

My question is, since my filter outlets point to the surface of the water, there is alot of movement up their. Is this enough to keep air in the tank so I can remove the air stone?

Thanks

James

Yes, you may remove the air stone. You are getting plenty of surface agitation with the filters.

James, you can remove the air stone but you may need to replace it with something to move the water around within the tank if you see any sign of the fish hanging out at the surface of the water or if you get any mystery illnesses, etc. A koralia powerhead is often all it takes.
With an FX5 and a 405, it may all be fine but you just have to be careful taking any functional system and decreasing the water movement in any way... I hope that helps
