Pseudotropheus Polit Cichlid not spitting out her babies

Is it possible for a cichlid to spit out her babies then gather them up multiple times? She has been holding for many weeks but my demasoni, in contrast, spit hers out as soon as possible. I don't want to see her starve to death holding in my community tank. I don't have an extra tank atm.

Yes it is possible and natural. If they are mature and she keeps picking them up you can just strip her.
